My Life and Career
A 20-year veteran of the telecommunications industry
Since 2003, I have flourished in a variety of professional positions. I began my career as a field technician, where I learned the technical aspects of installation and troubleshooting while developing my interpersonal skills through customer interaction. In 2013, I transitioned into an office position where I was tasked with porting existing customer phone numbers into and out of the company's telephony system, followed by a move up to Tier II support. Currently, I hold a position in Technical Engineering Support, where I proactively look for system distribution problems that may affect customers. These issues are escalated in order to expedite repairs and reduce potential downtime.
A U.S. Army Veteran
I served as an operating engineer as a soldier. I operated backhoes, bulldozers, and front-end loaders in addition to driving vehicles. If it had wheels or tracks, I could operate it. As a member of a Panama-based engineering battalion, I constructed farm-to-market roads, schools, clinics, and bridges in Panama, Honduras, and Costa Rica. Because we worked directly with the local populace, I became fluent in Spanish. Even after so many years, I continue to speak the language whenever I can. I am appreciative for the opportunity to experience other cultures early in life while serving my country.
A family man
I am so very proud of my family. My wife is the most supportive person I have ever known, and I can never thank her enough. My youngest son (16) is an aspiring soccer player and a member of the National Honor Society. My oldest son (23) is an avid soccer fan and is pursuing a master's degree at Cornell University.
A hobbyist musician
I started playing the violin when I was 9 years old. I had aspirations of being a concert violinist, but life happened. I still play, though. I am a self-taught guitar player, but I'm no rocker. I just play chords so I can sing. I started singing karaoke when I was in my early 30's, and now I just play the guitar and sing for the family.
